This table shows what you should do for each classday; all work should be completed before the start of class on the date for which it’s listed. To put it another way, tests are listed on the day they will be given and assignments on the day they are due.

Esta historia dura aproximadamente 25 minutos. Durante la película debes pensar en las preguntas siguientes: - Si tuvieras que escribir una carta a la viuda, ¿qué dirías? - ¿Qué importancia tienen las cartas, el e-mail, y las llamadas telefónicas en la vida de un emigrante? - ¿Por qué crees que el jefe cambia el precio que promete pagar? - ¿Cuántos ladrillos [bricks] tendrías que limpiar para ganar el doble del precio prometido… y cuántos ladrillos por minuto si trabajas durante ocho horas? - ¿Cómo expresan los obreros su dolor? - ¿En qué aspectos no se respetan las reglas de seguridad de OSHA en este trabajo? - ¿Crees que trabajar juntos (como sugiere uno de los obreros) va a ayudar o no? Explica. - ¿Cuál es la relación entre la silueta de Nueva York, que se ve al fondo, y el lugar de trabajo? Durante este trimestre vamos a ver todas las historias de la película. Debes pensar en estas preguntas en relación a la película en general: - ¿Cuál es la importancia de la fotografía en esta película y en la vida de un emigrante en general? - ¿Qué función tienen los segmentos en el estudio fotográfico en esta película? - Comenta la solidaridad y falta de solidaridad en esta película - Comenta la generosidad y falta de generosidad en esta película - ¿Qué problemas hay de comunicación en esta película, y por qué - ¿Dónde vemos la separación en esta película y cuáles son sus efectos?

jueves, 12 de diciembre	leer y estudiar 222–223 preparar 220–222 sondeo escribir escribe una frase una frase original, creativa e interesante empleando en cada frase una de las palabras o expresiones de Ojo, páginas 222–223, según el uso de la palabra o expresión que se describe en el libro. En total, tendrás 10 frases originales y creativas. Puedes considerar como y puesto que como expresiones intercambiables, y también los/las dos y ambos/as, así que sólo hay diez expresiones. All assignments are from the Pasajes book unless otherwise stated. The numbers indicate page numbers, the letters indicate the activity on that page. Remember that sometimes an activity starts on one page and continues onto the next page, but I will only indicate the page it starts on. Also, sometimes activities have names, like autoprueba for example.

Leer y estudiar means to read and study the indicated pages. If there is vocabulary on those pages, read it, practice pronouncing it, and begin studying and learning it according to methods we will discuss in class. If the pages explain points of grammar or cultural information, read and think about them. Try to understand them and be ready to ask in class about things that are not clear.

Preparar means to prepare the activity. Read the directions and be ready to do the exercise or activity in class. You should think about how to answer the questions before class, so that in class you can do so without much hesitation.

Hacer means to do the activity. I’m not going to collect it, so you can do it in you book or on paper, as you wish. You should be able to respond to the exercises assigned as hacer without much hesitation.

Escribir means to write the assignment out, on a sheet of paper and bring it to class ready to turn in. Be sure to include your name, class and section or class hour, and an indication of what the assignment is (the page numbers and exercise letter or name.) Either write clearly or use a computer and print the assignment out.

Entregar means to turn in. I usually use this category for things you've been working on for a while. Make sure your name, class and section or class hour, and the name of the assignment are on all work turned in.
